Build Your Trade — Or Your Practice — Here
We hire for skill, not just a CV — structural engineers, coded welders, boilermakers, CNC operators, riggers, and detailers who want steady, serious structural work.
What The Shop Floor Actually Offers
Trade Skill Is Respected Here
Founded by a boilermaker, run day-to-day by tradespeople. Decisions about the shop floor get made by people who've stood on it.
Real Equipment, Not Improvised
CNC beam lines, dedicated stainless bays, and a 220t press brake — you're not fighting worn-out tools to hit tolerance.
Coded & Certified, Kept Current
We fund recertification and further coded tickets — AWS, rigging, working-at-heights — as part of the job, not a favour.
Steady Work, Real Projects
22 years and 1,150+ projects of order book — from single brackets to 300-tonne warehouse frames. Variety without instability.
Current Openings
Don't see a fit? We still want to hear from experienced tradespeople — send a general application to the address below.
Coded Structural Welder
MIG/Stick welding of structural connections in mild steel to AWS D1.1, working from shop drawings alongside our fitters and QC team.
- Current AWS D1.1 or SANS 044-1 welding code ticket
- 3+ years structural welding experience
- Able to read shop drawings and weld symbols unsupervised
- Own PPE; company supplies welding equipment and consumables
Boilermaker
Fitting, marking, and assembly of structural and plate components ahead of welding — precision fit-up is the job, not just cutting.
- Trade tested Boilermaker (Red Seal or equivalent)
- 5+ years structural fabrication experience
- Comfortable working from GA and shop drawings
- Experience with jig-based assembly an advantage
CNC Machine Operator (Plasma / Laser)
Operate and programme our CNC plasma and laser cutting lines from DXF nest files, including basic nesting adjustments and quality checks.
- 2+ years CNC plasma or laser operation experience
- Comfortable with DXF/DWG file handling and nesting software
- Understanding of cutting tolerances and material handling
- Willing to work rotating shifts during peak production
Site Erector / Rigger
Structural steel erection on client sites — bolt-up, alignment, and rigging support under a certified lift supervisor.
- Valid rigging certification (or working towards one)
- Working-at-heights certificate
- 2+ years structural erection experience
- Willing to travel to site and work occasional weekends for shutdown work
Structural Detailer / Draughtsperson
Produce shop drawings, connection details, and bolt-group calculations from IFC structural drawings using Tekla Structures.
- 3+ years structural detailing experience
- Proficient in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of SANS 10162 or AISC 360 connection design
- Strong attention to fabrication-level tolerance and constructability
Structural Engineer (Pr.Eng or Registered Candidate)
Design and analyse structural steel and mechanical support structures in-house, working directly with our fabrication and detailing teams from concept to sign-off.
- BEng/BSc/BTech in Structural or Civil Engineering
- ECSA registration as Pr.Eng, or registered Candidate Engineer working towards it
- Proficient in Prokon or STAAD.Pro; SANS 10160 / SANS 10162 working knowledge
- Comfortable working alongside fabrication and detailing teams, not just at a desk
